Welcome to Atmospheric Dynamics in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of St Andrews, Scotland! Our research focuses on large-scale weather and climate variability, predictability and change, from daily to multi-decadal timescales.
Particular areas of interest include stratosphere–troposphere coupling, sudden stratospheric warmings, weather regimes, annular modes, jet streams, subseasonal-to-seasonal prediction, teleconnections, large ensembles and model biases. Check out our Publications for more information.
On this website you can also find operational subseasonal forecasts based on our research of weather regimes and the stratospheric polar vortex.
